Ubisoft is one of the biggest game developers out there. Famous for games like Assassin’s Creed, Just Dance and Rainbow Six, it comes as no surprise that the developer is also trusted with huge third party IPs, right?

Names like Avatar — no, not the last airbender — and Star Wars are two of the biggest movie franchises out there. Avatar is one of the best-selling movies of all time, and Star Wars is one of the most notable film franchise.

So, what could be the problem with Ubisoft and these games?

Ubisoft Managing Director Quits

Some fans are fearing for the upcoming Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, as well as the unnamed upcoming Star Wars games. Both are being developed by Ubisoft Massive and their managing director has just quit, according to an interview in the Hitpoints newsletter.

The director, David Polfeldt, went on Sabbatical last year, but it has now been confirmed that he won’t be coming back to Ubisoft Massive anytime soon. So, what does it mean for anyone who wants to play these games?

Will This Have An Effect on Avatar and Star Wars Games?

Since Ubisoft Massive have been working on the unnamed Star Wars game as well as Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, some fans are worried that the games will not be made or pushed back within their development.

With a key person at Ubisoft Massive leaving so suddenly, it could cause the games to be delayed, while Ubisoft finds a replacement, but Ubisoft isn’t some indie development company, but a massive corporation, so they’ll likely have someone fill the position quickly.

Sure, it might take a bit longer for the games to be developed, but this is a mere hiccup that won’t derail these massive projects. Both Star Wars and Avatar are such huge intellectual properties, that there is a lot of money involved in the projects, so Ubisoft won’t be stalled by this news too much.

So, while we wait for news to come out about the Avatar and Star Wars games, let’s just chill and play some Assassin’s Creed, watch some Arcane and maybe read up on our favorite streamer — Amouranth.
