In Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Gloom Hands are among the most dangerous enemies you can encounter. Here are some tips on how to beat Gloom Hands in Zelda: TotK.

Of all the enemies in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (and there are many), some of the most annoying ones are easily the Gloom Hands. Whenever and wherever you are exploring in Hyrule, suddenly everything can turn dark and a pool of gloom can appear around you, revealing these nasty grapplers.Gloom Hands are pretty much what they sound like: big hands made out of gloom. Yuck. They are extremely fast, come in packs and, unsurprisingly, inflict gloom upon you when they grab you. And they will grab you, if you don’t heed our advice on how to deal with them.

Gloom Hands are really nasty, and there is no surefire way to beat them. We actually recommend running away from them or teleporting away. Mostly because they’re really hard, but also because an even tougher enemy (which we will not spoil here) spawns after you kill them. And who has the patience for two terribly tough fights in a row?

But, if you want to take them on and throw hands, then we have some helpful tips for you right here:

Reaching For Higher Ground

As annoying and awful as Gloom Hands are, they have one weakness: the y-axis. If you climb up somewhere, they will (most likely) not follow you, which is obviously a huge advantage.

In our experience with Tears of the Kingdom, this didn’t always work out though. But most of the time, this is the best way to get rid of the hands.

Kill Them All, Quickly

As if they weren’t bad enough, Gloom Hands also respawn if you don’t kill all of them in quick enough succession. So make sure they’re all dead at around the same time.

AOE Is Your Friend

Considering the respawning and that there are five of these things, we highly recommend AOE attacks. The best options are arrows with bomb flowers attached. Otherwise, use Chuchu jelly. Either way, arrows are your way to go here.

Gloom Resistance

Should the monsters get hands on you, then you’ll be inflicted with gloom, which temporarily takes away some of your hearts. To avoid this, we have three tips:
