With the complete Climbing Gear Set, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom becomes a lot easier. Although the Ascend ability is very useful to reach roofs or higher grounds, it won't work in every case, and you'll have to climb.

As it's a long process to increase your stamina to climb a longer distance, it's way faster to collect all three pieces of the climbing gear and simply increase your climbing speed.

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom: Climbing Gear Locations

Armor sets in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom typically consist of three pieces and the Climbing Gear is no exception. Here's how to find the chest piece, as well as the boots and the bandanna.

Chest Piece

Finding the chest piece of the climbing gear is part of the first Misko's Treasure quests. If you start your search for the treasures at Lookout Landing, just before the New Serenne Stable, you will find the North Hyrule Plain Cave on the right side of the road on the side of a hill. Alternatively, if you have unlocked the Sinakawak Shrine you can start from there, heading down the road towards Carok Bridge; you'll then find the entrance on the left side of the road.

After entering the cave you're confronted with two Like Likes and if you're lazy, just defeat the one right in front of you, dangling from the ledge. Because you'll need the ledge to use Ascend to get on top of it. Just follow the path and don't get distracted (for too long) by the chamber with the Bubbulfrog, you'll have to enter the chamber hidden behind the waterfall.

Climbing Boots

The Climbinb Boots are found near the Zora's Domain in the cave called Upland Zorana Byroad, which is located down south from the Upland Zorana Skyview Tower – not the first cave, you'll encounter, but the second one. This cave is a bit confusing, but if you're just here for the climbing boots, ignore the obvious Stone Like to the left and swim through the little pool to the other Stone Like on the right, up a gap in the wall.

After the Like Like your path will be blocked by some vines, but that's just a smaller inconvenience, especially compared to the flooded room you'll find next. Don't get overwhelmed by all the ruins, statues and loot. Just move through to the other side of the room, where you will find a watergate, which you can lift with Ultrahand to get the water out.

Now go grab all the loot and ore and if you're done with it, head to the stairs on the right, but don't go up. Underneath the staircase is an entrance to the chamber with the chest containing the climbing boots.

Climber's Bandanna

The Climber's Bandanna is also located near the Zora's Domain, inside the Polymus Mountain Cave, between Mikau Lake and Lulu Lake on the southern side. If you're making your way up to Lulu Lake, you'll pass it naturally. Finding it isn't the hard part with this one.

The cave has really slippery walls, Link will be probably wet, and you'll have to get all the way up to get the climbers head piece. So it's not a coincidence that this piece is the last on the list. Having the other two equipped will help you to get all the way up before slipping also a potion could be useful to ensure, you'll make it all the way up. You can use the ledges on each side to take short rests and restore your stamina.

Once you can see a larger ledge at the end of the cave, climb up the wall, and you're finally on the high ground. On your left is some ore, but your goal is on the right (with even more ore).

In this little chamber you'll find the Climber's Bandana in a chest and now have completed the full Climbing Gear Set! With each piece increasing your climbing speed and providing a +3 defense, it's a pretty good start for your journey.
