Arena is the newest rotating game mode which Riot introduced earlier in 2023 for their big Summer Soul Fighter Event. Now, the mode is making a return and fans are pretty excited for what is planned.

Some new faces will also be added as cameos this time around, while some others are taken out. What abilities will the new cameos have though?

Sett, Pyke and Gwen will be making a return to Arena in LoL Patch 13.23, but they aren't alone. Along with them will be Thresh and Sylas, who will also receive Winterblessed skins during the 2023 Winterblessed event.

  • Sett
    • Sett can be attacked by players. He will cast his W, Haymaker, at the enemies of whoever last-hitted him.
  • Gwen
    • Gwen will occasionally grant her W, Hallowed Mist, to the player with the lowest health.
  • Pyke
    • Pyke will occasionally cast his E, Phantom Undertow, at the furthest player on the map.

These are the cameos we know from the previous event, but what can the new additions do? Well, it's looking pretty interesting, especially with Sylas who will utilize his ultimate on players, giving them random ults.

  • Sylas
    • Sylas will start the round by giving each combatant a random ultimate, Ult Spellbook style, that will override your non-flash summoner (which you then get back after casting the spell)
  • Thresh
    • Thresh will walk around the battlefield and periodically throw his lantern, providing a shield and an escape.

LoL Arena will be making a comeback on November 21, 2023 with LoL Patch 13.23. The mode will be going to the Public Beta Environment for some testing before it goes live, but get excited for the new cameos and the improved gameplay!
