Dave the Diver Creators' New Game Is Basically The Opposite Of Their First Title

Mintrocket, the studio behind Dave the Diver, has released a trailer for their new title, and it's an arena PvP game that sounds very different from their first game.

The RPG adventure Dave the Diver made many indie hearts beat faster last year. As a deep-sea diver, you explored the mysteries of the ocean during the day and managed your own sushi restaurant at night. The pixel art style and diverse gameplay aspects have resulted in dreamy ratings on Metacritic.

Now Mintrocket, the dev studio behind the surprise hit, is back with a new project that has us wondering about the drastic change in direction.

The New Game By Mintrocket Is A Team-based Action Game

For the announcement, the Korean Studio dropped a teaser trailer, giving us a quick impression of their new project, called Wakerunners.

If someone had shown us these two games, probably no one would have bet that they come from the same developer, and not just because one is a single-player title and the other a multiplayer one.

Although Dave the Diver has its nerve-racking aspects, the fast and visually stunning gameplay of Wakerunners, as well as its overall look, surprised us.

Wakerunners is a 4v4 & 5v5 team action game set in a near-future Earth, now a relic of its past. Glide through arenas with a top-down view, employing a unique speed mechanic. Unleash swift combat in diverse landscapes for an immersive experience.

We don't know when the game will launch or how much you'll have to pay for this new PvP title, but it will be available on Steam. The game will feature a variety of game modes, including Team Deathmatch, Control Conquest, and everyone's favorite, Escort!

Now tell us: As a Dave the Diver enthusiast, will you give this game a try? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
