A reliable insider claims that there won’t be a new Resident Evil remake in 2024. Instead, Capcom will focus on a different game that they expect to be very successful.
A prominent Capcom insider has claimed, that the company is not planning to release another Resident Evil remake in 2024. Instead, they will focus on a as-of-yet-unannounced “big game”, which is supposed to come out next year.
Capcom's "Big Game" For 2024 Is Not A Resident Evil Remake
This was claimed by Dusk Golem, who is very well known as a Capcom insider. They have correctly revealed unreleased info on the company before, so they are among the most trustworthy sources concerning all things Capcom.
On their Discord server, Dusk Golem talked about what the Japanese developer has planned for next year – and what we will be missing out on:
“There is no RE remakes coming out in 2024, I promise that. […] There is a big Capcom game that’s being announced in late 2023 and releasing in 2024. But it is not a Resident Evil game.”
What else could it be then? All signs are pointing towards Monster Hunter 6. One of Capcom’s biggest franchises has been dormant for a while. Yes, MH: Rise came out in 2021, but that was originally a smaller, Switch-exclusive game. The last big mainline game, Monster Hunter World, is originally from 2018, so it has already been five years.
Considering this timeframe and that World is Capcom’s most successful game of all time, with over 19 million copies sold, it would make sense that this mysterious “big game” is Monster Hunter World 2, or a completely new entry in the series.
However, as reliable as Dusk Golem’s info usually is, we need to take everything with a grain of salt until Capcom officially confirms it. If they’re really announcing a big new game in late 2023, it would make sense that this reveal would happen during The Game Awards on December 7.Do you think we will get a new Monster Hunter soon? Or would you rather have a new Resident Evil? Let us know in the comments!
