Alongside information about new games like Princess Peach: Showtime!, gamers still wonder when they can expect an official reveal for the Switch 2, Nintendo's next console which is set to be announced this year. Typically, such announcements are made during the Nintendo Direct livestream. These broadcasts take place several times a year and it looks like the next one will be hosted in February.
Leaker Reveals Date For The Next Nintendo Direct
Insider Jeff Grubb just revealed in the latest episode of the Giant Bombcast, that the next Nintendo Direct is set to happen sometime in February 2024. According to him, Sony's equivalent, the State of Play, could also take place in the next couple of weeks:
It is the one I heard that was coming up the fastest but you can always count on a Nintendo Direct in February. It is almost certainly going to happen in February, again.
The rumors of a new Nintendo console are slowly reaching their peak, suggesting a release in 2024. If that's indeed the case, it should be announced in the not-too-distant future. The Nintendo Switch was announced in October 2016, five months before its release. This gives us hope that the Switch 2, even if it might have a different name, will be announced in the upcoming Nintendo Direct livestream.
While that can't be guaranteed, the next Nintendo Direct will very likely feature news on upcoming games, like Princess Peach: Showtime or the Paper Mario remake.
