Ichiban’s Personality In Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth is an important stat that you’ll need to level up for powerful bonuses and to unlock new jobs. Here are the best ways to do it.
Similar to how it worked in Yakuza: Like A Dragon, Ichiban has a Personality stat in Infinite Wealth. Leveling up your different Personality types is really useful, as it grants you bonuses for Ichiban. It is also necessary to unlock new jobs in Infinite Wealth, as well as certain interactions with NPCs.
Personality is split into six categories, which all give you different bonuses. The level bonuses alternate between improving a certain hero skill and increasing resistance towards one element:
- Charisma (improves Blind resistance and Hero's Blessing)
- Passion (improves Sleep resistance and Hero's Encouragement)
- Style (improves Charm resistance and Hero's Flair)
- Intellect (improves Silence resistance and Hero's Wisdom)
- Confidence (improves Fear resistance and Hero's Guts)
- Kindness (improves Rage resistance and Hero's Healing)
The Best Ways To Level Up Your Personality In Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth
There are a bunch of ways to improve your Personality stats. The most consistent way is through Personality Challenges. These are the typical challenges as you would find them in any Yakuza/Like a Dragon game. Each challenge (there are almost 400 in the game) will give you a bonus to a different Personality stat.
You can check all Personality Challenges by going to the main menu, going to the Personality tab and selecting the Personality Challenges options. You will complete a lot of these automatically by just playing the game: walking around, fighting, collecting items and gear, singing Karaoke, everything is tied to a challenge. It’s worth checking the list from time to time, though, as some challenges are more obscure and require you to know what you’re doing.
You get a pretty decent chunk of points during conversations, especially ones where you can choose multiple answers (like Drink Links, for example). Choosing different options will grant you bonuses to different stats. Unfortunately, it’s not always clear what answer will increase your Passion, which one will increase your Intellect and so on.
Aloha Links also level up your Personality. Just go around Honolulu and press X/Square to say “Aloha!” to anyone with a smiley emoji over their head to gain more Personality points.
All fine and good ways to spend your time. However, the absolute best way to level up your Personality In Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth is through the Ounabara Vocational School. Just like in the previous game, Ichiban can take tests to earn certifications. You can go to Ounabara Vocational School as soon as you unlock the Honolulu open world in Chapter 3: The Fool.
Each test has five multiple choice questions, and you need to answer three correctly to pass the test, which will grant Ichiban a nice, big bonus to his Personality.
If you struggle with the tests, you can talk to Ikari and get two “cheats”. The Divine Pencil costs $5,000 and will let you get rid of two wrong answers for one question per test. Hyper Focus costs $1,000 and stops the time limit once per exam
