Team Aze MSI 2022 — 5. LLA - Team Aze

The LATAM representatives are going to have a very bad time in their group. Not only with T1 as the clear favorite, but also having to deal with both DetonatioN FocusMe and Saigon Buffalo. We really don't see Team Aze making it out of groups. | © Riot Games

Fast Pay Wildcats MSI 2022 — 4. TCL - FastPay Wildcats

The TCL represenative is going to have a bad time at this MSI tournament. With the reigning MSI champions spearheading the group, as well as the PCS representative probably taking second place, the Turkish squad would need a miracle to make it to the Rumble Stage. | © Riot Games

Kalunga Red Canids MSI 2022 — 3. CBLoL - Red Canids

The Brazilian squad has fire and passion on their side, but will it be enough to let them make it out of groups? Unlikely. This squad will need a miracle, much like their TCL group mate, to make it into the next stage, but we are hopeful that an upset could occur. | © Riot Games

Saigon Buffale MSI 2022 — 2. VCS - Saigon Buffalo

Saigon Buffalo might have only been second place in the VCS, but they're one of the youngest teams at MSI 2022 and their thirst for blood could make for some upsets. The VCS is always fun to watch, so let's see whether these rookies can make it out of Group A. | © Riot Games

Evi DFM MSI 2022 — 1. LJL - DetonatioN FocusMe

DFM have shown insane skill throughout the last year. Sure, they've got a new mid laner, but the team is extremely strong for a 'minor' region. Though, it'll be tough to judge whether they can beat Saigon Buffalo for the final spot in the Rumble Stage for Group A representatives. | © Riot Games

The 2022 Mid-Season Invitational has kicked off and we're going to take a look at some of the minor regions competing at the tournament this year. Yes, we know T1, RNG and G2 are heavy favorites and that Evil Geniuses is the hope of NA this year, but let's set those teams aside and cast our glances to the minor regions, those that we believe will have the power to upset even the greatest of forces at the first international tournament of 2022.

Last year, DetonatioN FocusMe almost pulled it off and Pentanet.GG managed to put the LCO on the map, even though everyone doubted Oceania after the OPL was dissolved at the end of 2020. So, who are the teams that could make a splash at this year's tournament?
