LoL Patch 12.17 is going live today. The League of Legends update brings several buffs, nerfs and other changes into the game. What's going to happen in 12.17 and, the most important question, who will get some new skins? Here's everything you need to know.
We're almost at the end of the LoL patch schedule with LoL Patch 12.17 and only have a few more weeks to grind our rank and get to Gold to get that free skin – obviously, the biggest priority in LoL ranked. So who gets buffed, who gets nerfed? Let's have a look at the upcoming game changes.
LoL Patch 12.17: Buffs And Nerfs
Along with changes to Miss Fortune and Maokai, Riot has quite a few changes planned for outlying champions this patch. Some of my personal favorites are getting buffed, while other champions that have especially high win presence and win rate in pro-play are getting nerfed.

League of Legends: Miss Fortune Buffs Ahead of Worlds 2022
We have to talk about Miss Fortune for a moment. She's beginner-friendly and a great pick even in the pro-scene. Last year, during the 2021 League of Legends World Championship, she played a big part in the event. Will these upcoming changes make her a strong ADC once more? Or will Zeri and Sivir remain unbeatable?
Miss Fortune Ability | Changes |
Q - Double Up |
|
W - Strut |
|
E - Make it Rain |
|
Hecarim Changes to Make him Viable at Worlds
Hecarim hasn't been feeling all too great in recent times. He's got a mere win rate of 48% and overall this champion just isn't keeping up with others, making him one of the worst picks in the jungle right now. So, he's getting some major buffs to try and help out his identity crisis and make him a true brawler instead of an assassin-wannabe.
Hecarim Abilities | Changes |
Base Stats |
|
Q - Rampage |
|
W - Spirit of Dread |
|
E - Devastating Charge |
|
R - Onslaught of Shadows |

Changes to Stopwatch, Zhonya's and Guardian Angel
Stopwatch is probably the best item in all of League of Legends, right? That thing is just too OP. Now imagine if with a cooldown, you can re-use it over and over again. Then you've got Zhonya's Hourglass. Riot is changing both items ahead of the 2022 League of Legends World Championship.
Item | Changes |
Stopwatch |
|
Guardian Angel |
|
Zhonya's Hourglass |

Maokai Adjustments to Hit Rift in LoL Patch 12.17
It looks like Riot is looking to make Maokai jungle a thing once more. The tree from the Shadow Isles hasn't had the greatest time in the position and has mostly seen play in the support position, but that could change with these adjustments to his kit.
Maokai Abilities | Changes |
P - Sap Magic |
|
Q - Bramble Smash |
|
E - Sapling Toss |
|
R - Nature's Grasp |

ARAM Adjustments in LoL Patch 12.17
Of course, we also have to check out what is happening on the one other game mode Riot still has and that is ARAM. In the previous patch a lot of updates were made, and a few more champions are being adjusted on the single lane.

Zenith Games & Ages of Runeterra Skins
We will receive two different skin lines in LoL Patch 12.17, although one of them is just one skin as of now.
The Zenith Games skins are supposed to be a futuristic sport event. A little early for World Cup skins, don't you think?
The other skin line is – in my opinion – a lot more interesting, as it revolves around the upcoming book "Ruination", the story about Kalista and the origin of her, Viego and the Shadow Isles. It's only fitting that Viego would be the first champion to receive an Ages of Runeterra skin, but we're sure that more that are part of the story will follow. Let's see what Hecarim looks like as a human!
- Zenith Games Lee Sin
- Zenith Games Jayce
- Zenith Games Blitzcrank
- Ages of Runeterra Viego
And that's all there is to LoL Patch 12.17 right now.
Riot Games MMORPG: What Do We Know About The Game?
And if you want to prepare for the upcoming Ages of Runeterra skins, in which Kalista will hopefully be featured eventually, then ready yourself with the best bot lane combo right now...
