Pocketpair's CEO, Takuro Mizobe, announced that Palworld's server costs will reach almost $500,000 in February.
Palworld has captivated over 19 million players, breaking the Steam player record – and that's not counting Xbox users. However, the phenomenal success of the game also requires extremely high server costs.
Pocketpair's CEO, Takuro Mizobe, lightheartedly posted a screenshot on X of the game's server costs for February, which skyrocketed to over 70 million yen (about $475,000 USD).
Mizobe Reveals Palworld's Monthly Server Costs
In the tweet, Mizobe says, "Wait, maybe we're going bankrupt because of server fees?" reflecting on the indie developer's financial challenges amid its spending on server costs.

The significant server costs for Palworld are driven by one critical need: ensuring uninterrupted service.
In response to CEO Takuro Mizobe's tweet, Network Engineer Chujo Hiroto clarified that the goal is to provide players with a seamless experience that allows them to continue their search for cuddly and uniqe Pals anytime, anywhere, without worrying about downtime.
Following the order to never let the service go down no matter what, we have prepared servers without regard to cost. We will continue to give our all to ensure that all players can enjoy to the fullest!$478,000...

Despite these high costs, fans shouldn't worry about Pocketpair's financial health after Palworld's release. The game has been a remarkable success, selling around 12 million copies on Steam at $30 each and generating over $360 million in revenue (again, these figures do not include Xbox sales).
This achievement suggests that the company is well positioned to invest in a robust server infrastructure to ensure the game's continued success and player satisfaction.
