Most gamers will know NVIDIA mainly because of their graphics cards, but the company also has its own cloud gaming service called GeForce NOW. It allows users to stream video games from remote servers directly to their devices, including PCs, smartphones, and tablets. To do this, it renders and processes game graphics on powerful cloud-based servers and then stream the gameplay to the user's device in real time.

Why, you might ask? Well, this enables players to play high-end PC games on devices that might not otherwise be capable of running them due to hardware limitations. So by using GeForce NOW, you can play the latest games on basically the oldest hardware, as long as your internet is fast enough.

However, you have to own the games and buy them on their respective digital stores. So far GeForce now supported Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox, Ubisoft Connect and GOG.com. Now, another platform joins the cloud gaming service:

Battle.net Joins GeForce NOW

As announced by NVIDIA on February 29, 2024, Blizzard Entertainment's Battle.net joined the cloud gaming service. Everyone with a GeForce NOW membership who owns Diablo 4, Overwatch 2, Call of Duty HQ or Hearthstone on the Battle.net app, can now stream those games using the cloud gaming service.

This will allow you to play Diablo 4 in 4K resolution with 120 frames per second on hardware that usually wouldn't allow for that. If you are more into fast-paced multiplayer shooters like Call of Duty or Overwatch you can additionally benefit from ultra-low latency thanks to the powerful NVIDIA Reflex technology.

If you don't own any Battle.net games, but have a GeForce NOW membership, here's what you can expect to be added in March:

  • The Thaumaturge (New release on Steam, Mar. 4)
  • Classified: France ’44 (New release on Steam, Mar. 5)
  • Expeditions: A MudRunner Game (New release on Steam, Mar. 5)

Have you ever tried a cloud gaming service? Obviously, this is a great way to still enjoy games in good quality even if you can't afford the best hardware and having more games available is awesome.
