In Dead by Daylight, the focus is on hunting, sacrificing, and killing. Naturally, there's a lot of blood involved, and the game incorporates this theme in various ways, such as through the in-game currency Bloodpoints or the bloody Prestige skins that you can unlock for your characters. This March marks the first time a blood-themed in-game event will take place. We'll tell you everything you need to know about the Blood Moon Event.

Dead by Daylight Blood Moon: Starting Date

In Behaviour's dev stream that introduced the new chapter "All Things Wicked," the developers also introduced the upcoming in-game event, which will take place for the first time this year. From March 18 to 31, you can dive into the Blood Moon Event with new mechanics, skins, and bonus points.

During the event, the lobby and some maps will be thematically decorated according to the blood theme, unique gameplay will be introduced, and you can take on the new challenges of an event tome, where you can earn some nice rewards.

The devs also announced that this event will now take place every spring, and it's supposed to be the best time for players to earn Bloodpoints. Bloodpoints are one of the core mechanics of Dead by Daylight, used to level up your characters and unlock items and perks. So, if you're short on resources, you should definitely participate in the Blood Moon event.

But what exactly will the Blood Moon event be like?

How The Matches Change During Blood Moon

During the Blood Moon event, you'll find droplets in your matches that you can accumulate. With these, you can create Blood Basins that spawn Blood Zones. As long as your Blood Zone is present and not destroyed by your opponent, you'll receive certain bonuses.

As a Killer, your attack lunge distance is extended, but you'll have a longer cooldown after landing a hit. As a Survivor, your grunts of pain are reduced when you're injured, and the blood trails you leave behind disappear faster.

Additionally, there's good news for your wallet: All actions you perform within the Blood Zones will grant you extra Bloodpoints.

If you play as a Survivor, you can also look forward to a new event item that you can take into matches. The Blood Sense Map allows you to see the auras of all injured Survivors on the map. However, using this item leaves more blood, so be careful when you decide to use it.

The Blood Moon Event Tome And Cosmetics

Like many other Dead by Daylight events, Blood Moon will come with its own Event Tome consisting of 2 levels, offering you additional challenges for your matches. Additionally, there will be a Blood Seekers Community Challenge Objective that will create a Bloodpoint Multiplier. This multiplier will increase more and more based on the number of blood moon-related actions undertaken by the players.

By participating in all these event activities, you can unlock 2 complete skins, one for the Survivor Elodie, and one for the Killer Oni (surprise). Additionally, there will be a complete Blood Moon collection featuring skins for Mikaela, Ace, Skull Merchant, and Doctor, you can buy in the in-game store.

So, get ready to get your hands bloody from gaming to earn loads of Bloodpoints and unlock a lot of cool stuff. See you in the fog!
