Enshrouded has one big problem, but the devs have already promised to fix it.
Survival games seem to be quite popular right now. On January 24, the Early Access phase of the co-op RPG Enshrouded launched on Steam, and it mostly garnered applause. In our review, you can read in detail about what makes this Steam hit noteworthy.
However, there's one thing that bothers players, and that's the Quest Progression System.
Enhrouded's Biggest Problem: Quest Progression
In Enshrouded, you can play with 16 people on a server. Roaming through the open world and tackling various quests in large groups sounds pretty cool at first. However, it becomes tricky when not everyone is online at the same time, because the quest progress is still saved for all players.
So, if you can't play with your online friends for an evening because some of your real-life friends want to go to the movies, you miss the progress your teammates achieve. But even if you are online but prefer spending your time with base-building, quests that your adventure-seeking friend has already grinded through are being checked off for you as well.
This is because Enshrouded saves quest progress server-side. This applies not only to regular quests but also to the tutorial. So beware if you haven't been there since the server started; you'll have to learn everything on your own.
Understandably, many players are not happy with this. With currently over 10,000 votes and more than 100 comments, player-based progression is the most requested feature on the developer's feedback board.
That, of course, didn't go unnoticed by the game dev studio Keen Games.
One of our most common requests and definitely on the team's radar Stay tuned!

As a response to an article on the topic by PC Gamer, they state that this request is already on their radar, and we should stay tuned for further updates. Players appreciate that! Soon, the quest progress will probably be saved on the player's side, so everyone can proceed at their own pace.
In the midst of this whole story, it's crucial to keep in mind that this is an Early Access game, which is designed to identify and address issues like these. Keen Games' response has already left a positive impression, and we'll have to wait and see when they provide an update to address this concern.
