Skull & Bones Open Beta Announced, Progress Will Carry Over Into Full Game

Skull and Bones will release soon – on February 16, to be exact – and a week before officially starting the pirate life, an open beta will begin. Luckily for players, the progress they make during the beta period will also carry over to the full game.

The time is over. No more delays. Skull & Bones is almost here, and we're finally boarding the ships! Those who can't wait to check out the full release of the highly meme-able game can already set sails on February 8 with the open beta.

You might want to check out if your PC can handle the game, but if it can, you can get a little head start before diving into the full release.

Skull & Bones Beta Progress Carries Over Into Full Game

Whatever progress players get done in the beta period from February 8 to February 11, as well as the exclusive rewards they can get during that time, will carry over once the full release hits on February 16. With Ubisoft+, you can even start playing the full version on February 13 to up your chances at becoming the most feared pirate out there.

But beware: during the open beta, players can't just grind for 72 hours straight with no cap whatsoever. Infamy Tier 6 is the most you can get out of the beta, but the rewards you can get are worth it as well: unique ship cosmetics, weapons, emotes and a Lemur pet wait for you in the open beta.

Whatever you'll manage to get during your first pirate adventure will be available once the full game releases, so make sure to get the head start to up your chances at seeing your name high up on the Skull & Bones leaderboards.

Ubisoft's Detailed Roadmap For Skull & Bones

Even though Ubisoft's track record for Skull & Bones isn't exactly the pinnacle of organized game development, they seem to have finally gotten their bearings and released a roadmap for their pirate adventure.

According to the roadmap, there are new legendary pirate lords to beat coming with each new season, as well as seasonal ships and gear. They've got events planned, including battles against sea monsters and robbing unsuspecting merchants.

In Raging Tides – the first season – players will not only give Philippe Le Peste a hard time, but each other. Get ready for some PvP, upcoming events and practice your sea shanties!
