Creator Eric Barone also known as "ConcernedApe" on Twitter/X announced Stardew Valleys 1.6 update is done and finished with the content, releasing definitely in 2024!
The Stardew Valley 1.6 update is almost done as all the content has been developed and added to the update, leading the developer to the bug-fixing and polishing phase.
ConcernedApe or also known as the Creator of Stardew Valley, Eric Barone, has stated:
1.6 ended up being a little larger in scope than originally planned. I'm done adding major new content to it now, though, and it's in a bug-fixing and polishing phase until it's ready for release. Thx for your patience: It'll be fun to see everyone play it!
Considering the significant 1.5 update introduced to the PC in late 2020, it will be intriguing to see the ultimate scale of the 1.6 update. This is particularly noteworthy given the prior assurance in 2022 that the update wouldn't be extensive, with a primary focus on enhancing mod support. It appears that Barone's creative vision had different intentions.
Stardey Valley Creator Already Focusing On His New Game
However, Barone has already shifted his attention to his upcoming game, Haunted Cocolatier. This raises questions about whether update 1.6 will be as extensive as 1.5. Nonetheless, the community has been eagerly awaiting this update for quite some time.
Hard to compare, because 1.5 was all about a big NEW area, whereas 1.6 is about adding more to the old stuff in the game, with a lot of little things

In the comments section of his tweet, Barone assured us that the Stardew Valley 1.6 update will "absolutley" be released in 2024. Moreover, he emphasized that the release on PC, console, and mobile will not experience the significant delays seen in the past, as he described those delays as a "nightmare."
