Helldivers 2 is finally here! But the launch wasn't quite as smooth as it could have been...
Helldivers 2 has been eagerly awaited by both new and long-time fans. The third-person shooter plunges players into a galactic war, where they must defend the planet Super Earth in epic battles. However, the fact that the game received mixed reviews at release on February 8 has some frustrating reasons.
Helldivers 2 Problems – Arrowhead Promises Improvements
In the Steam Charts, the third-person shooter currently holds the top spot among Trending Games, with a peak of over 81k players. Nonetheless, the game currently has a Steam rating of only 68%. So, where do the bad reviews come from?
The players report game crashes when trying to start a mission, getting stuck in the tutorial, or encountering a matchmaking bug that sends them into a co-op mission on their own. Furthermore, the use of a certain anti-cheat software is criticized, with some suspecting it as a cause for the poor performance.
The dev studio Arrowhead has now addressed the launch issues and announced a hotfix to address the major problems.

In the statement, they write that they have worked on a patch to fix the matchmaking issue and crashes. After some testing, the update will be released first on Steam, and later on the PS5.
Let's hope that the tests yield positive results and the patch goes live as soon as possible, so you can dive into the adventure undisturbed.
