In a new press release, Ubisoft has revealed when fans can expect the releases of Assassin’s Creed Codename Red and Star Wars Outlaws.
Ubisoft revealed a new earnings call, where the company revealed when its two biggest upcoming games, Assassin’s Creed Codename Red and Star Wars Outlaws, are expected to release. The next mainline Assassin’s Creed game is set to launch by the end of fiscal year 2025 (between April 2024 and March 2025), while fans can already look forward to Outlaws by the end of the calendar year 2024.
Assassin’s Creed Red And Star Wars Outlaws Release Windows Revealed
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said in the report, that the company is “gearing up for a very promising line-up for fiscal year 2025”. He goes on to call Star Wars Outlaws, which will be the first open-world game set in the Star Wars universe, a “a major milestone in the video game industry, especially given the undeniable appeal of this legendary franchise that will be coming for the first time to the Open World territory.”
We still aren’t getting more details on either games, with Assassin’s Creed Codename Red still being a mystery (including the name of the game). Guillemot only refers to the “long-awaited feudal Japan” setting of the title, but promises more reveals in the future.
Previously, it was claimed via insider reports that both games are planned for release in 2024. While this is technically true to what Ubisoft is saying here, they’re giving themselves the opportunity to push Red back to 2025. The game was announced in September 2022 and is supposed to be part of Assassin’s Creed Infinity, Ubisoft’s confusing platform for the franchise going forward.
Outside of the scenario, Ubisoft has revealed nothing about the game. But rumors indicate that you will have two playable characters in Assassin's Creed Red available. Star Wars Outlaws was revealed during Summer Game Fest 2023 with multiple extensive trailers, making a very positive first impression and promising to fulfill the fantasy of playing a Han Solo-like character in a Star Wars game.
