Riot might have let go of a huge chunk of employees, but the company is still determined to make new games, like Project L, the MMORPG and a super secret third-person action RPG.
Riot is working on multiple new games behind-the-scenes. While we have gotten some updates on a few of them, like the upcoming fighting game Project L, as well as the League of Legends MMORPG, there are other projects that haven't received as much attention.
One of those games is an upcoming Action RPG in Unreal Engine 5 which is set to take place in Runeterra as well. However, some information has come to light with information about this mysterious game.
Multiple Features For Riot's Upcoming Action RPG In Unreal Engine 5 Revealed
"This sounds like Diablo" – one of my coworkers said the moment the list of mentioned features was posted online. Riot has been working on multiple new games and there were a few that haven't left the R&D stage yet, but could definitely be revealed to the public soon.
One of those is Project F, an action RPG made in Unreal Engine 5 which is set in the world of Runeterra. The idea is great, and the setting is perfect for such a game. We all know just how big Runeterra is and an action RPG in this universe would be perfect.

So, what are some of the features Riot has been cooking up for this game?
- Multiplayer
- Roguelike mechanics
- 'Daily' quests
- Seasonal model
- Enemy factions
- Crafting materials
- Would have a mobile version
This all comes from multiple posts on LinkedIn where ex-Rioters posted their job capabilities and experiences. Content creators have pieced together all the information to put this list together and honestly, this looks pretty good.
Roguelike features could be added for specific dungeons which could be super fun and interesting to keep the game from being stale, while also having a seasonal model, meaning that there will be various changes throughout the lifespan of the game to keep players engaged. And we know Riot is pretty good so far with keeping live service games afloat, no matter how much the community whines about balance.
For now though, we have to keep our eyes peeled on news of this game, since there has been no official information from Riot yet and some people are worried after the layoffs.
