The Heavenscale event is just around the corner and it seems like instead of listening to the community, Riot is just going to keep nerfing event passes in the future.
The community is not happy with Riot. After firing over 500 employees, cutting back on Legends of Runeterra and putting Riot Forge on ice, the community has already not felt too positively about Riot Games and the current situation. Now, players have to find out that the Heavenscale Event Pass is also getting nerfed.
Add in the fact that Riot already gave out fewer rewards – or what felt like fewer to the community – during the Winterblessed event, and you've got quite the unhappy player base right now.
LoL Heavenscale Event: Fewer Grab Bags
While it has been revealed that Riot is adding in a Heavenscale Capsule to the event pass at level 26, according to Notlin Games, there are going to be fewer Grab Bags for players to receive.
While the Heavenscale Event is still two weeks away, in the official Chinese patch notes for LoL Patch 14.2, Riot has already made some mention of the upcoming event pass changes.
Event pass nerfed ONCE AGAIN by u/Tikonso in leagueoflegends
According to Matty Love Gaming, the event pass and rewards have always been the same on the Chinese and International servers, so these changes will likely also hit international League of Legends fans.
In the Chinese patch notes, it is written that there are going to be some changes for this event pass. A Heavenscale Capsule will be added. This capsule will include 3 random skin shards, the same as a Grab Bag.
Two Grab Bags have been removed from the milestone track, though, along with one event emote. Instead, players will gain the usual 20 tokens when reaching level 55 of the event pass, as well as a title to add to their profile.
So, to summarize, Riot is going to be removing two Grab Bags, but adding in one Heavenscale Capsule. This basically means though that players are going to be getting fewer rewards with random skin shards in them.
For Winterblessed 2023 the community let their frustration known, but with how things have been going, it doesn't seem to make much of a difference, since it doesn't look like Riot is actually listening to feedback... and well we all know people will still buy the battle pass anyways.
