Team BDS have come out as RLCS 2021-22 Fall Major Champions, after an intense final match against The General NRG.
The unfortunately named Team BDS have taken home the RLCS 2021-22 Fall Major Champions, beating out the Yanks to end The General NRG's ridiculous 728-day reign as World Champions. The competition was tough, but after winning back-to-back best-of-sevens, the European Team managed to take home the cup, catapulting them into stardom.
Made up of Alex "Extra" Paoli, Evan "M0nkey M00n" Rogez, Marc "MaRc_By_8." Domingo, and coached by Javier "Kael" Ojeda, Team BDS managed to dethrone The General NRG with two best-of-seven wins. These victories came fast and forcibly, with the two game's running back-to-back and scoring 4-1 and 4-3 in BDS' favour respectively. This is one of the most impressive set of wins since Team Vitality took home the RLCS X for Europe earlier in 2021.
As a result of Team BDS' win in the RLCS 2021-22 Fall Split Majors, the team will be awarded $90,000 USD as well as an additional 601 Circuit Points, bringing their total to 1431 points this season so far. In comparison, The General NRG also hold the same number of total Circuit Points this season, but only brought home 500 points and $60,000 USD in the RLCS 2021-22 Fall Majors, due to their second-place loss to Team BDS.
Team BDS Bring European Dominance to RLCS 2021-22
Team BDS's triumph against The General NRG brings the long-awaited European dominance we've all desired in the RLCS. This season has been an odd one, as the Covid-19 Pandemic has caused it to be played as a mix of online and LAN events. The Fall Split Majors took place as a LAN Event in Stockholm, Sweden, something that Karmine Corps' Stake was very happy about when we talked to him briefly before the new Season kicked off.
The win also came as BDS' second victory over The General NRG in the RLCS 2021-22, and represented the further downfall of the once-great North American Team. In the end, it's the Yanks, and what's one thing that any Yankee is good at? Short and sharp glory, followed by long-lasting decline. I'll stop teasing the American's, though. Sorry guys, you just make it so easy!
Covid-19 hit the Rocket League Championship Series very hard in 2020, when they had to launch an entirely online RLCS X to address the requirements and limitations imposed by worldwide coronavirus restrictions. LAN Events such as those held in previous RLCS Seasons were too high-risk to be held before Western populations were sufficiently vaccinated. The RLCS 2021-22's Fall Major LAN Event featured no live audiences.

In the end, and despite the many restrictions imposed upon the RLCS over the last two years,it was Team BDS who took home the Fall Majors this Season, and Team BDS who should be celebrated. We congratulate them for their impressive wins against The General NRG, who had reigned as champions for the last two years. There were some great games here, and they certainly deserve a call-out. Well done, boys! Good game!
