Amazon Prime Video has already that Gen V will return for season 2, and we've got everything you need to know about that, including info about the potential release window and any other news you could possibly need.
It's not only the fourth season of The Boys to get excited for on Prime Video, the spin-off show Gen V has also captured many fans' attention. Gen V is perfect to gap the wait between seasons, and some time after The Boys season 4 hits, Gen V is going to continue as well.
Not that Gen V is only a placeholder until The Boys takes off again, though. This spin-off actually manages to stand on its own as a great story that doesn't overly rely on its predecessors' success. It seems like Prime realized the show's potential as they renewed Gen V for another season of coming of age Supe drama.
What is Gen V? Gen V is an exciting superhero spin-off of The Boys. Set in the same gritty universe, it explores the lives of new Supes with unique powers and mental health issues. Delve into a darker side of heroism as Gen V unfolds thrilling stories of corruption and redemption.
Just like The Boys, Gen V has been poking fun at overused superhero-tropes, adding their own messed up spin to the formula and it will hopefully continue to do so in Gen V season 2. We've got all the info on that, but need to start off on a tragic note.
Gen V: Season 2 Will Be Without Andre Anderson
As the producers of Gen V shared on Twitter/X in early May, the role of Andre Anderson will not be recast. Instead, the second season underwent some changes in the wake of the tragic passing of Chance Perdomo, one of the lead actors of Gen V.

Perdomo passed at the age of 27 after a motorcycle accident.
The rest of the cast should be back, though, including Jaz Sinclair, Lizzie Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Asa Germann and Shelley Conn.
Gen V Season 2: Estimated Release Window
As the producers shared, production is set to start in May 2024. The first season also began filming in May back in 2022, so if they're on a similar schedule as the last time again, Gen V's second season should hit around September 2025.
Gen V Renewed For Season 2 Before Its Final Episode
Amazon has been popping off with their superhero originals by adding a morbid spin to their stories. Maybe it would be more accurate to say they've been adapting morbid comics that have been poking fun at the tropes of the genre by adding something that is sorely lacking in most superhero-stories: realism.
Gen V might not really be based on a comic series of its own, but it carries that same spirit and does so with great characters and an interesting plot. With season 2 now being officially confirmed, we can't wait to see what Eric Kripke and his crew have in store for us, being completely free from any source material, while also having a franchise to expand upon. Season 1 already proved that they know what they're doing, but we can't wait for season 2 to hopefully completely take off the brakes and go full throttle with its premise.
