December – 'tis the season. Spending time with family, exchanging presents, looking back on a hopefully good year, constantly thinking about Jack Reacher and season 2 coming out on December 15 – the usual.

Lead actor Alan Ritchson had a very special present for Reacher fans he shared on his Instagram. He's already on the set for Reacher season 3, even before the second season released. Prime seems to have lots and lots of faith in Jack Reacher's continued success if they already greenlit the next part of his story!

Reacher Season 3 Confirmed: What Does That Mean For Season 2?

Before we get into details, join me in falling in love with Alan Ritchsons smile and his exciting announcement:

There's a few things we can speculate about following those news. First and foremost, the fact that shooting for season 3 has already begun could mean that fans won't have to wait for the next part of Reacher's story all that long.

The second season took almost two years to release after Reacher's first hoorah, so with filming already happening, it's pretty safe to say there won't be a too terrible waiting period. It's not even too far-fetched to expect Reacher's third season in December 2024, just a year from now.

Greenlight for the third season could mean a second thing, though. Other shows in a similar situation (meaning: greenlighting another season before or while airing the current one) tended to have one thing in common: a cliffhanger ending, so maybe prepare yourself for that possibility.

On the other hand, there's always a chance for surprises – that's what Christmas season is about according to Ritchson, after all.

Whatever the case, we'll make sure to keep you updated on the Reacher front!
