The recent Spider-Man games proved how great this genre can be. So long as you have a solid superhero to work with, it isn't hard to translate the experience of super strength or flight into modern games. And one of the biggest superheros of recent years is the Black Panther.

He's so big, in fact, that he's going to star in how own game. Yep, he's not just going to be part of another ensemble game with various other superheros, in this article, we're talking about a dedicated Black Panther game. It's coming soon, and we've just heard all of the most important details from an industry insider.

Insider Promises To Share Black Panther Details

Industry insider Jeff Grubb gave a surprise announcement on Sunday, promising to reveal all about the new Black Panther game on his "Game Mess Mornings" show at 11:00 ET (08:00 PT, 18:00 BST, 17:00 CEST) on Monday, July 25. Now Grubb, for those who haven't heard of him, is the real deal when it comes to game leaks. He currently works as an independent journalist, but he has a ton of connections in the industry, and his leaks usually turn out to be true.

Here's exactly what he promised the audience on Twitter:

Wakanda Forever trailer is great. Let's talk about the Black Panther game live tomorrow on #GameMessMornings at 11 a.m. Eastern

You can find Giant Bomb Twitch here (the channel Jeff Grubb streams the show from).

Update, July 26: Black Panther Gameplay Details

According to Grubb, the game will be developed under the codename "Project Rainier" by a new studio with former Monolith VP Kevin Stephens and published by EA Games. The game itself is said to be an "open-world single-player game" in which the player can actually slip into the role of the new Black Panther.

There are no further details on the story or release date, but it is said to be in the early stages of development. The most interesting aspect of is that the player can take on the role of the Black Panther in his own way and not just play as T'Challa, M'Baku, Shuri or one of the already established Marvel heroes. That should offer an opportunity to personalize the gaming experience in a fun way and give it a unique feel.

Are you excited about a Black Panther game? Fingers crossed it can live up to the standards set by recent Spider-Man games, although even if it can, we imagine quite a few of you are just burnt-out on superheroes.

Speaking of films becoming games, what about a few games that deserve a big-screen adaption?
