As Amazon Games already stated in the past, their main target is to produce and publish different kind of MMOs. In corporation with Bandai Namco Blue Protocol is their newest offering after the releases from Lost Ark and New World for the western audience.

Will Blue Protocol leave a lasting impression on the audience or will the same fate befall their next MMO game, just like their predecessors: Climbing up the steam charts really fast, breaking some new records and fall into an endless void?

Let's check out how the first impressions of the game held up!

Blue Protocol: Is It Worth The Wait?

Blue Protocol is an anime MMORPG that offers various classes, an action combat system, and combines cherished elements from the JRPG genre to create something fresh and exciting.

So, the theory sounds good and all, but can this game actually live up to the expectation? Let's check out what our colleagues from various online magazines have to say about it.

Seth G. Macy from IGN was totally immersed in playing Blue Protocol, loving its anime aesthetics and the general approach of it.

[..]I really need to point out Blue Protocol is absolutely gorgeous. Seriously, it's one of the most beautiful anime-style games I think I've ever played. It's everything I like about a game like Xenoblade Chronicles 3, but turned up a notch.[..] If you love a good anime, a fast-paced MMO, or some combination of both, Blue Protocol looks like it's got what you need.

Joseph Bradford from mmorpg saw it from a practical perspective: Blue Protocol isn't groundbreaking but still a solid game.

At the end of the day, Blue Protocol isn't breaking new ground with insane mechanics, but what I played is a glimpse at an otherwise solid MMORPG. I was excited before I played it during Summer Game Fest, and in the month and a half since, that excitement hasn't really diminished. I've longed for an anime MMO, and I'm eager to learn more about the world of Regnas, its people, and uncover the mysteries of those alien-feeling floating ruins in the sky, but sadly that has to wait.

Tom Hopkins from Gfinity believes Blue Protocol will have a meaningful impact when it arrives in 2024,

I’m still intrigued about whether a mobile version of Blue Protocol will ever be released. [...] Either way, Blue Protocol seems like an MMORPG that’s catering for a lot of different players. Whether you’re playing solo or with friends, you can play as any class and jump into quests that fit your playstyle. There’s a beautiful world to explore and deep end-game content for those that want it. Blue Protocol is going to be a hit when the western version releases in 2024, there’s no doubt about it.

Overall, not the worst impression, and players will gravitate to the similarities Blue Protocal shares with Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail. With five different classes and a whole continent to explore and a lot of hidden mechanics, we have to wait how the game will unfold before us.

You can sign up to the Blue Protocol beta at the website.

Blue Protocol will arrive in 2024 for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

While you're waiting for the next MMORPG, why don't you dive into Honkai: Star Rail and look at all the newest Banners and some of our guides:
