CDPR just confirmed that they are dedicated to the Cyberpunk franchise, and that more Cyberpunk will follow, beyond the coming expansion.
Cyberpunk wasn't exactly all that when it started, but it seems to have come around to become all that and more. Now, me personally, I'm more excited about the upcoming Deus Ex, but I will admit that Cyberpunk has come a long way. Now, Cyberpunk will go even further with the upcoming expansion, and as CDPR just confirmed, there is much more Cyberpunk on the horizon after that.
CDPR Promises More Cyberpunk
We decided to develop one major expansion for Cyberpunk, which is going to take advantage of all the capabilities of the new-gen consoles. Having said that, we’re totally, fully committed to developing the Cyberpunk IP further, beyond this particular Cyberpunk expansion. We’ve put a lot of effort and time into building this franchise and we definitely want to continue to build upon what was built right now – with new stories, new experiences, new content, basically. Not just the video game format... In terms of expansions, there’s just going to be one major expansion. However, there’s going to be new stuff in the future.
I mean that does make a lot of sense, after all, the Cyberpunk 2077 world is quite something to behold, and when you consider that the Cyberpunk anime is about to release on September 13... well, of course CDPR has more plans for this franchise. I don't think anybody is surprised hearing that Cyberpunk is getting a sequel, but it still feels good to hear it from CDPR themselves.
It seems like CDPR will soon be back in players' good graces: Cyberpunk 2077 is becoming more and more popular with every patch and DLC, and The Witcher 4 is as highly anticipated as can get. In fact, CDPR just revealed that The Witcher 4 will kick off a whole new saga. Big things going at CD Projekt, and we're certainly here for it.

The next Cyberpunk game has now been announced by CD Projekt RED. It is known under the code name Orion and will be a "Cyberpunk 2077 sequel that will prove the full power and potential of the cyberpunk universe".
Not much more has been revealed about the next game, but we're very excited at the prospect of a direct sequel. We will probably have to wait a while for this one though, considering how each game by the developers takes ages to be made. And they announced like six new ones in one go. Still, it's great to have it confirmed that they are going back to the well with this one.
