Cait Sith, everyone's favorite, ridiculous FF7 character, is returning in the second part of the remake, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Here are Cait Sith's attacks and abilities, we also know of at least one synergy ability he can do with Yuffie.
In the original FF7, Cloud Strife and the party meet Cait Sith at the Gold Saucer during their search for Sephiroth. And in the second part of the remake, FF7 Rebirth, we expect him to serve much the same role in the story.
However, what will change dramatically is Cait Sith's gameplay, which looks awesome in Rebirth. Square Enix has now revealed some of his attacks and abilities, and while they clearly pay homage to the luck-based design of the original character, they also show great innovation.
Cait Sith's "Slots" ability from FF7 had a small chance to instantly kill all allies if you rolled Face/Face/Bar, and it ignored immunities to Instant Death. This has always been a character for the gamblers.
FF7 Rebirth: Cait Sith
Here is a rundown of Cait Sith's abilities and attacks in FF7 Rebirth.
Cait Sith Attacks
Cait Sith can do basic attacks without even bringing out his iconic Moogle (the giant white thing).
Basic Attack: Cait Sith's basic attack is described as letting him "dart about the battlefield with the agility of an acrobat (or perhaps a cat?), assailing enemies from every side". And we think this means he will use basic attack to land lots of smaller blows on enemies, while jumping around them and avoiding their attacks.
Kitty Wallop: We can see something called "Kitty Wallop" in the above screenshot, but we don't know what this is. We assume it will effectively be his heavy attack that he can perform when using his Moogle.
Cait Sith Abilities
Separate to his basic attacks, Cait Sith also has a number of unique abilities.
Let's Ride: With this ability, Cait Sith rides his Moogle and perform higher damage attacks.
Dropkick: Dropkick is a heavy attack that Cait Sith can use while riding his Moogle. It's just a massive kick.
Moogle Meter: Cait Sith has a "Moogle Meter" that can be charged up via combat. Once charged, he can use it to buff allies with abilities like Defense.
Cait Sith will have a number of other abilities that allow him to nerf enemies and buff teammates, and it sounds like they all rely on some element of chance. However, we have not been shown all of Cait Sith's FF7 Rebirth abilities just yet.
Cait Sith Synergy Ability (With Yuffie)
If you are playing with Yuffie and Cait Sith on your team, and they both use enough abilities to charge up your "Synergy Gauge", then they can perform powerful synchronized attacks called Synergy Abilities. The only one we know about for these two so far is called Moogle Pinwheel.
Moogle Pinwheel: We can see a picture of the ability above, but Square Enix have not described what it does in full detail. All they're willing to share is that "Yuffie and Cait Sith can attack in tandem with a secret ninja technique". We are 99% certain it won't be difficult to use, however. We are expecting Moogle Pinwheel to be a high-damage ult ability.
And that does it for everything we know about the new Cait Sith abilities and attacks in FF7 Rebirth. What did you think? Will this be one of your new favorites, or is he too wacky for your taste?
