New Game Plus In Final Fantasy 16: Final Fantasy Mode Explained
For everybody who doesn't know this game mode, here is a quick explanation. The Final Fantasy Mode, is a special mode for Final Fantasy 16 and is this game's version of New Game Plus. This new mode will be available for you once you completed the main story of Final Fantasy 16.
After you finish the campaign, you can start a new game and choose this option, you will find it beneath the options "Story Focused" and "Action Focused" in the Difficulty selection. The description of the Final Fantasy Mode already tells you what to expect:
"Replay the game in Final Fantasy mode with data carried over from a previous playthrough. In this mode, the level cap is raised to 100, but enemies are for more powerful. To aid you in your journey, the legendary "Ultima Weapon" is available for crafting. After starting, you will be unable to switch over to Story or Action Focused mode"
So these are the main changes, compared to your former playthroughs.
- The level cap increases up to 100
- Your enemies will be stronger and therefore harder to defeat. So be careful and keep an eye on the state of your equipment
- You can craft the Ultima Weapon, which is the strongest weapon in Final Fantasy 16. The description of the Weapon sounds very promising: "'His word was the first, so shall it be the last' - Eikonomachy - Genesis 3:11"
- You won't be able to switch between difficulty, which is possible on your first playthrough
And just the description for the game mode said, you will be able to carry over some "data" from your previous game. This includes abilities, weapons, gear and equipment. You might need it, since your enemies are far stronger now.
And one little final thing: You won't need to play the intro again, so your game begins after the fall of Phoenix Gate. Thank you, Square Enix, there is nothing more annoying than listening to the same intro or play the same intro missions for the thousandth time.
