In a recent earnings call with investors Warner Bros revealed just how successful Hogwarts Legacy has been. This has been their biggest global launch ever, making the idea of a sequel far more likely.
We were worried about the success of Hogwarts Legacy last year. We just didn't see how they could pull off something so ambitious; between all the spells and mounts the devs needed to implement, they were also being actively boycotted by those opposed to J.K. Rowling.

Hogwarts Legacy Had A Wildly Successful Launch
As revealed in a recent earnings call by Warner Bros, Hogwarts Legacy has surpassed over $850 million in sales and 12 million units sold in its first two weeks across PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. David Haddad, President of Warner Bros. Games, went on to explain why Hogwarts Legacy was going to be a core part of their strategy moving forward:
We are so thrilled and proud to see the player response to Hogwarts Legacy from gamers, fans who are new to gaming and reviewers around the world. Our development team at Avalanche delivered an amazing, high-quality Wizarding World experience that truly fulfills the fan fantasy of life at Hogwarts and our publishing teams have executed a globally impactful launch campaign.
This news comes just a few days after WB revealed how strong player engagement had been to Variety. So far, they've tracked 152 million hours played, 173 million magical plants grown, 115 million potions brewed and 556 million Dark Wizards defeated. It seems Hogwarts Legacy was far more successful than anyone could have expected (and if you read our review you'll understand why).
What fantastic news, now we can all start gossiping about DLC! Hell, apparently they're even considering a Hogwarts Legacy TV series...
