We just got some sad news for everyone who enjoys the fine art of gaming. According to a reliable insider, Ubisoft has canceled the development of new games including Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon, as well as unannounced projects. God damn, Ubi, what happened?! Let's see what's going on here.

Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon & More Games Have Been Canned

This sad, tragic news comes courtesy of Stephen Totilo of Axios. He went on Twitter to reveal this shocker. Here is his post and what he had to say about this development.

So yes, looks like we won't be getting either Splinter Cell VR, nor Ghost Recon Frontline. To be very honest with you, I didn't really expect much of either of these projects. Especially Frontline, which looked particularly uninspired. My good friend and colleague Jon Ramuz, a big Warzone and Apex fan, got to play the game and was interested. But apparently, Ubisoft saw the writing on the wall and wanted to be careful after the failure of HyperScape.

We are wondering what these "unannounced games" are. Unfortunately, Totilo hasn't disclosed any info whatsoever on that. Ubisoft is in a weird place, they don't have too many hot irons in the fire right now. However, a showcase was announced for September, where we expect a number of new, exciting games. Let's wait and see what they have to show us there.

Until then, they at least have one new game coming, as you can see in our video here:
