The cult classic is back
The long wait is over. After 10-years a remake of the cult classic Lollipop Chainsaw is going to be getting a remake. Until now there have only been rumors surrounding the potential remake of this classic game, but thankfully it was confirmed.
You'll be able to cut up zombies with a giant chainsaw once more dressed in nothing but a skimpy little cheerleader outfit. When is the remake going to be released though and what features will the game have? Let's check out everything we know about the upcoming Lollipop Chainsaw remake!

Original Team Working on the Remake
The game is being worked on by Daragami Games which is led by the original game's producer, Yoshimi Yasuda. Yasuda also explained that some of the original development staff will be joining the team for the remake, as well as new staff from Daragami Games.
Yasuda wrote on Twitter that the original game is precious to him and the staff and that because of updated tech, players couldn't play the game anymore.
We, the original development staff on Lollipop Chainsaw, think of the game as very precious to us, and did not want to leave it in limbo, where players who want to play it cannot. As such, we purchased the Lollipop Chainsaw intellectual property from Kadokawa Games, and decided to develop a remake. We have already contacted Warner Bros. about development, and are being supported by them in this endeavor.
It's always great to see studios being transparent and upfront about their projects, so we can only wish them every success.
When Is The Lollipop Chainsaw Remake Release Date?
Last month, Yoshimi Yasuda, teased that the game would be making a comeback. It's been 10-years since the original was released and even though the game didn't have the best reviews, it grew to have a cult following.
Now, it was announced by Yoshimi Yasuda that the game will definitely be making a comeback in 2023. So, if you're a fan of zombie games and the extreme, then this is definitely a remake to be keeping an eye on, since it'll be just as insane as the 2012 original.
What Will Happen to the Original Lollipop Chainsaw Soundtrack?
Unfortunately, there are some licensing issues with the music from the original game, which means that the remake will feature new music, with a few tracks from the original.
This shouldn't be too big of a loss. The staff working on the remake will create the best version of the game they can for 2023 and will have fans reliving their twisted childhood once more.
New Features in Lollipop Chainsaw Remake
Yasuda wrote on Twitter that the remake will recreate the original, but it will also have distinct new features to place it in 2023. One of those features will be improved graphics, since consoles and computers have improved so much in the last 10-years.
Which Platforms Will The Lollipop Chainsaw Remake Come Out On?
Which platforms the game will be released on is not yet known and hasn't been revealed yet to the public. But we will find out more in the next few weeks and months regarding the platforms, the release date, as well as just how different the game will look.
