Fast Travel in Spider-Man 2 is insanely cool thanks to how instantaneous it is and how smoothly it gets you across the giant map of New York. We will show you how to unlock fast travel in the game.
While swinging around is once again incredibly fun in Spider-Man 2, and movement in general feels incredible thanks to the new wingsuit, nothing beats a good fast travel system.
The New York map in this game is significantly bigger than in the previous two titles, so getting from end to another is just more convenient with fast travel. And thanks to the PS5’s fast loading, it literally happens in an instant. Mind-blowing.
How To Unlock Fast Travel in Spider-Man 2
To unlock fast travel in Spider-Man 2, you’ll have to get the District Progress meter of a part of the map to the second node in the progress bar. To do that, you’ll need to complete side-quests and get some collectibles, like Spider-Bots or Photo Ops. As soon as the progress hits the little skyscraper symbol, you can fast travel to any point in that district.
Unfortunately, this is a fair bit more cumbersome than in the first two games, both of which locked fast travel behind story progression. Doing enough side content to unlock the second progress node just takes a while, especially if you want to unlock fast travel across the entirety of New York.
However, this is balanced out as fast traveling is a lot more useful now. Whereas before you could only travel to certain points, being able to go literally anywhere in an instant is much more useful and makes the open world collectathon much more palatable.
