Remedy Entertainment has recently filed a trademark for a new game called "FBC: Firebreak", a potential Control Spin-Off.
Dark and eery action-adventures are one of Remedy's specialties. Alan Wake 2, the latest game developed by the Finnish studio, earned dream reviews and got praised by both critics and players. The 2019 released Control is another example of their great atmospheric storytelling. Being a totally new IP, it managed to build a stable fan base, received two DLCs in 2020 and will even get a sequel in the future.
Remedy Filed A Trademark Called FBC: Firebreak
Apparently, Remedy Entertainment recently secured the trademark under the name "FBC Firebreak". FBC being most likely the abbreviation for "Federal Bureau of Control," an organization that players encounter in Control as Jesse Faden. Her telekinetic powers help to controlthe so-called Altered World Events that invade the organization's building, the "Oldest House".
Within this building there are so-called firebreaks, which are vast chasms that separate areas, protecting normal parts of the building from being attacked by supernatural areas, just as your usual a firewall does in a metaphoric way.
There is currently speculation about whether "FBC: Firebreak" could be the new name for Project Condor, which is a multiplayer title set in the Control universe, that Remedy Entertainment is working on together with 505 Games.
The application that Remedy Entertainment filed on January 8 covers several goods. Besides computer gaming software and clothing, video and other multimedia productions are listed, which suggests that this project might actually be a big one.
Only time can tell what awaits us in the end. If the new game is actually a multiplayer game, you can count on me throwing rocks at my friends! Ingame of course.
