Atlus's Persona tactical RPG spinoff is supposed to come out next Friday, but a technical blunder already gave some players early access yesterday.
Atlus just can't seem to catch a break when it comes to technical mishaps. Just earlier this year they accidentally released the reveal trailer for their Persona 3 remake earlier than they meant to, and now a whole game of theirs, Persona 5 Tactica , was accidentally released on Steam, more than a week before its actual release date!
If you had the game in your Steam wishlist and got a release notification in your inbox yesterday, that wasn't an error on Steam's end. Apparently someone at Atlus had a little slip-up and accidentally set the game to "released" in the store page's backend. So the full game was actually available to buy, download and play for anyone for about 20 minutes! Naturally Atlus quickly noticed the mistake, un-released the game and changed the release date to, uh, anything but yesterday, apparently?

Atlus Pulled An Atlus Again
However, anyone who went offline right after they downloaded Tactica (or just launched it and left it running since then) still has access to the full game. Game leaks are a pretty common occurrence these days, but a dev team leaking their game themselves? Now that's novel! I'm sure heads are rolling at the Atlus HQ as we speak. But really, considering their technical track record I'm not surprised this happened to Atlus.
Well, there's technically still a press embargo on Persona 5 Tactica. So although those lucky few who grabbed the game while it was live get to play and talk about it as they like, we here at EarlyGame will have to zip it for a while longer! But you can expect to be able to read about our thoughts on the game ahead of its release on November 17 here soon™.
