League of Legends Patch 12.13 is going to release in a few weeks, but Riot has already outlined the upcoming buffs and nerfs. Which champions are affected?
The current League of Legends patch, 12.12, is going to be a three-week patch according to the official patch schedule. Sure, we're getting a mid-patch update to tone down some outliers like Seraphine and Tahm Kench, but the bigger changes to systems will have to wait until Patch 12.13 is released.
So, let's check out just which champions are going to get buffed and nerfed in the next patch, and which items and systems Riot is going to focus on after their durability update in Patch 12.10. We know thus far, Riot is pretty happy with how the changes have landed, but they still have to iron out the kinks of some systems that were affected harder than others.
[Update 14 July 2022]
Looks like some of the planned changes were a bit too strong, and Riot had to release a hotfix a couple of hours after the patch. These champions were affected:
Live servers are hotfixed with nerfs to Gwen, Master Yi Sivir. In Master Yi's case, we wanted to give him more optimizations to be more performant at highrr levels of play and then move power from his more statchecky elements after seeing how it landed. (though we overshoot).

I knew giving Master Yi more range was a bad idea... Seems like every mid scope update Riot releases is super OP, and Sivir too, was super busted after the update. Most surprisingly, Gwen was too strong, and she is finally viable outside the pro scene. Unfortunately, we don't have the exact numbers of these nerfs, but as soon as they are released, we will update this article.

Lethality Mythics are going to be looked at by Riot for the next patch. Yes, assassins and lethality builders haven't had the greatest of times. Champions like Qiyana have been suffering since the durability update and while it was intended for assassins not to be able to one-shot opponents with a single Q, it seems like they aren't able to one-shot anyone even after using everything available in their kit.
Therefore, Riot is going to buff lethality items to give assassins a fighting chance out there on Summoner's Rift. Will they succeed or over-buff these items, and we're all back to square one?
System | Changes |
Lethality Mythics
| Additional Mythic Passive: +5 Move Speed per Legendary Item Eclipse (only) Ranged Damage Proc: 6% max HP --> 3% max HP |
These mythic changes should improve lethality items without buffing the lethality aspect of them. Whether movement speed will help assassins is yet to be determined, but at least we know that they'll be coming a bit faster out of the fog-of-war.
System Adjustments in Patch 12.13
Divine Sunderer is one of the best items in the game right now and any top lane fighter is building the item. A few adjustments will be made in LoL Patch 12.13 to the item so that other items will also be built.
System | Adjustment |
Divine Sunderer | Sheen Damage: 12% Max Health --> 6% Max Health (125% nase AD)
Heal: 6%/3% --> 65% of premitigation damage |
It wasn't long ago that the item was changed and adjusted due to players abusing it on Ezreal, making him become a tanky and powerful bot laner. During this time, he was also played in the mid lane a lot, but Riot changed the stats on the item for ranged champions. Does this mean something similar will happen this time around?

Gwen has been struggling. She is a great pick in high elo, as well as in pro play, but the moment you're out of Masters tier, she seems to just suck. There is no other way of saying it. Gwen isn't that good in solo queue. Neither in the top lane, nor the jungle, which means Riot will be adjusting her to hopefully fit the solo queue meta as well.

These are some huge Sivir changes coming in the next League of Legends patch. She is going to have a more reliable Q thanks to the speed buff of her weapon, and her W bounces are also much easier to time. These changes also give Sivir a chance to shine by making her ultimate greatly benefit her rather than her teammates. Overall, these could be some insane changes, so hopefully Sivir mains flock to her in the next patch.
Champion Nerfs in Patch 12.13
Most of the champion nerfs are going to hit the rift a bit sooner in LoL Patch 12.12b. Riot has left two champions on the nerf list for LoL Patch 12.13 though, so that we still have something to write about in this category, eh? Thanks Riot.

Late game scaling has been the name of the game lately, and who does that better in the mid lane than Corki? Almost no one. Hence, why the Yordle is going to be nerfed. Am I mad? Not at all, the champion is annoying as hell and a bore to watch in pro play. Please Riot, nerf him some more!
We're planning for a 12.12 micropatch to hit some outliers for 30 Jun and 12.11 champs that were hit too hard (Kat, Shaco). The rest will be in 12.13, but it will be delayed a week and start coming out ~July 12. Buffs for bursty champs are targeted at non-burst axes mostly pic.twitter.com/VPo30mVhel

Champion Buffs in Patch 12.13
While the nerf list was pretty short for this patch, the buff list seems to span for days. Some champions just need a bit of love. Taliyah is finally getting a buff, as she has felt a bit lack luster since the durability update. Her mid-scope update did land well, but with more durability and some of her burst taken, she hasn't been as strong as she could have been. Oh, and let's not forget her upcoming Star Guardian skin. Of course, she is going to get buffed by Riot.
Champions | Buffs |

The Master Yi buffs on the PBE server look incredible already. One of the best parts is probably that you can now decide where to exit his Q. It's landed extremely well with Master Yi players on the PBE server, and the live results will be scary for any bronze and silver player out there.
When Will LoL Patch 12.13 Release?
The release date for League of Legends Patch 12.13 is July 13, 2022. You'll be able to test out the new Master Yi, as well as stronger assassins thanks to the lethality changes. Until then, you'll need to deal with the changes from the b-patch.
Of course, in League of Legends patch you'll also be able to purchase Kai'Sa's new legendary skin from the Star Guardian universe and a whole new event is going to be in the League of Legends server. Are you ready?
