After Snoop Dogg, Neymar and more, is Beyoncé the next global superstar we'll see on Twitch?
The Super Bowl has long ceased to be just for football fans. The coveted ad slots during the breaks have been filled with iconic commercials for years, featuring some of the most famous faces of the world. A discovery during this year's breaks gives fans hope that we'll soon see one of these faces on Twitch as well.
IamSlayoncé – Is This Beyoncé's Twitch Channel?
To announce her new album, a spot featuring Beyoncé and the mobile network provider Verizon aired during one of the commercial breaks, in which the singer attempts to "break the internet."
In the video, we see Beyoncé portraying various roles, including a lemonade vendor, an AI android, an astronaut, and also a Twitch streamer. And here the plot thickens: The Twitch channel on which she streams in the video actually exists! "IamSlayoncé" also doesn't seem to be a fan-created channel. As seen on TwitchTracker, it was created on February 9th, 2 days before the commercial aired.
It is not entirely unusual for celebrities to find their way to Twitch and stream their favorite games, like Snoop Dog or Neymar Jr. Whether Beyoncé will soon be among them remains to be seen. So far, the IamSlayoncé channel has remained inactive. Nevertheless, it's suspicious that it exists at all.
Beyoncé doesn't necessarily seem like the type to stream on Twitch, though. The channel was most likely created so that the name wouldn't be taken by some rando. Still, I would love to see something actually happening with this.
