While it's not officially confirmed whether Helldivers 2 will return to Steam, Sony has responded to community feedback by canceling plans to require PC players to link it to a PSN Account in order to play the game.
Helldivers 2 was removed from over 170 different Steam regions across more than 100 countries due to Sony's announcement that it would only be playable when connected to a PlayStation Network (PSN) account.
What seemed to be a catastrophic situation for the surprise hit of the year was resolved in a positive manner — at least for now.
Helldivers 2: Forced Sony Measurement Has Been Avoided
Here's the issue; PSN isn't available everywhere, prompting Steam to remove the game from regions where PSN isn't accessible. As a result, many Helldivers fans worldwide found themselves unable to play. Steam provided refunds to those who had already purchased the game.
Following a large outcry from the community and numerous negative reviews, Sony has decided to follow the community's request. They announced that Helldivers 2 will not require a linked PSN account for PC players. This comes as a huge relief for the Steam community.

However, despite these positive developments, there is unfortunately no official statement from Steam regarding the return of Helldivers 2 to the affected regions. If there are any announcements regarding this issue from Steam, we'll keep you updated.
