Helldivers 2 is widely known as a highly popular game and has broken several records. However, Sony has introduced a new requirement for PC gamers.

They announced that PC players would only be able to play Helldivers if they have a PSN account, which they might need to link with Steam. This made the game unplayable in many countries, prompting many players to request refunds on Steam.

Helldivers 2: Fans Are Upset And Seeking Refunds

With the new changes, PC players needed a PSN account to access the game. However, PSN is met with skepticism by numerous players due to past hacking incidents.

Another issue is that in 177 countries, PSN is not available, depriving them of the opportunity to play the game. Fan disappointment spread across social media, and on Steam, the negative sentiment among players was unmistakable.

Consequently, the Recent Reviews rating on Steam dropped significantly from Mostly Positive to Mostly Negative. However, Steam kindly offered refunds to players, even those with nearly 100 hours of gameplay.

Whether Steam will bill Sony for the incurred costs remains unclear. Johan Pilestedt, the Creative Director of Helldivers 2, has shared his concerns on X and is working to advocate for the community's interests. He suggests that if the decision were his, linking to the PSN account would have been optional.

After receiving numerous criticisms on social media, Sony has now responded to the comments and announced plans to make changes.

We hope that Helldivers 2 can return to its former self and once again capture our hearts.
