It's happening! Everybody stay calm! We got Gi-hun's rad new hairstyle – welcome to the redheads club, buddy! – and by the looks of it, he's up for revenge.
It's also confirmed now that Squid Game's second season will come out in 2024. They didn't give us a more concrete release window just yet, but knowing that this year is the year takes some of the stress away. The wait is nearly over!
Squid Game Season 2: The Cast
Director and executive producer Hwang Dong-hyuk shared before that he's looking forward to the second season, spoke about his appreciation for the show and fans and also shared some more hints about what to expect.
If you're curious about who is gonna make their return for the second season, the post from Hwang Dong-hyuk confirms two returning characters, as well as one possible return and a new "character". It's pretty obvious that there won't be many returning characters, since most of them died in season 1.
But here are the one's that have been confirmed:
- Lee Jung-jae as Gi-Hun
- Lee Byung-hun as the Front Man
- Gong Yoo as the man in the suit with the ddakji
- Wi Ha-joon as Hwang Jun-ho
Newcomers include Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Park Sung-hoon, Jo Yu-ri, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Lee Jin-uk, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, and Won Ji-an – a whole set of new characters.
Squid Game Season 2 Plot
Where the first season of Squid Game showed viewers the fascinating and brutal world of "people playing games... and dying if they lose", the second season will follow Gi-hun and his life after the games.
His plans were to just ball and go to the US, because why the hell not, but something more important needs to be done instead: "he begins a chase with an important motive." Sounds like a revenge plot to me.
As soon as we have more news to share, you can count on us to update you. Bet.
