The original Assassin's Creed game is set to be getting a remake or remaster soon. Ubisoft gave us some very obvious hints in their recent anniversary video, but have now come out with a statement. Will we get this remake?
Assassin's Creed 1 Hints In Anniversary Video
As first recognized by @Ikraik_original, a shot from the Assassin's Creed 15th Anniversary video shows a scene from the first Assassin's Creed game, but it looks far nicer than it ever did in 2007. Therefore, this must clearly have been captured from a recent remake of the game. Here's a side-by-side of the original shot and the shot from the anniversary video:

When Will The Assassin's Creed 1 Remake Be Released?
So far these are the first signs we've heard of the Assassin's Creed 1 remake, but it is a remake, we're not talking about the next GTA, so you should expect it in 2023. Okay, sure, maybe I am being a little optimistic, but withAssassin's Creed Infinity well underway, and Assassin's Creed Baghdad basically ready for an imminent launch, it's not that far-fetched.
Will you be interested in an Assassin's Creed 1 remake? I'd certainly like to see what Damascus looks like in 4k.

And we were so convinced that this was legit. Guys, I'm really sorry to say this, but we will not be getting an Assassin's Creed 1 remake. This has now been confirmed by two Ubisoft employees, one of them being the series executive producer, so this is very much true, as much as it pains me to say it.

As you can see, the guys are dedicating all of their time to Assassin's Creed Mirage, so any hopes of a remake have now been squashed. Maybe sometime in the future, but my best guess would be that this future is very far ahead.
