Luka is an upbeat and fearless combatant who utilizes a mechanical arm. He transitioned from the fighting ring to the battlefield, evolving from a mere fighter to a true warrior. With update 1.2 you can add him to your team, but only if you're lucky enough to draw him.

Honkai Star Rail: Luka – Best Build, Light Cones & Team Comps
Luka is a 4-Star character, who follows the path of Nihility, which indicates his role as a control and debuff character. He uses his strength to protect the denizens of the Underworld, and his own experiences of despair drives him to inspire hope to others. Element wise, Luka will deal Physical damage with his basic attack and his ultimate.
Luka Build: Best Light Cones
There are only three good and useable Light Cones for Luka as a Nihility character. One of them being a 5-Star Light Cone and the two other are 4-Star Light Cones. Some 3-Star ones might work as well, but only if they scale in any way with DoT DMG.
5-Star Light Cones
Using Kafka's signature Light Cone “Patience Is All You Need”, lets you build up a good amount of increased DMG, SPD and additional DoT DMG.
Patience is All You Need
- Increases DMG dealt by the wearer by 24 %. After every attack initiated by the wearer, the wearer's SPD increases by 4.8 % up to 3 stack(s), with a 100 % base chance of causing the attacked enemy to take 60 % additional DoT DMG for 1 turn.
If you happen to have this Light Cone you might as well use it, but take into consideration that Luka has his own signature weapon with an interesting debuff.
4-Star Light Cones
There are three 4-Star weapons which are complementary to Luka. Let's have a look which one you can use and with a little bit of luck, you already have those in your inventory.
Before the Tutorial Mission
- Increases the wearer's Effect Hit Rate by 20 %. When the wearer attacks DEF-reduced enemies, it regenerates 4 Energy.
You get this Light Cone from the Before the Tutorial Mission from the Silver Wolf Event.
The next weapon is the signature Light Cone from Luka. This one gives enemies the "Ensnared" condition. While being under this condition, they get their DEF decreased. Ensnared is another source of defense down, that stacks with other defense down conditions.
Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat
- When the wearer hits an enemy and if the hit enemy is not already Ensnared, then there is a 60 % base chance to Ensnare the hit enemy. Ensnared enemies DEF decreases by 12 %.
You can obtain this from Departure Warp, Stellar Warp, Character Event Warp, Light Cone Event Warp.
Another interesting Light Cone could be the 4-star signature weapon from Sampo "Eyes of the Prey".Eyes of the Prey
- Increases Effect Hit Rate of its wearer by 20 % and increases DoT by 24 %.

Luka's Best Relics
To play Luka well you need the 4-piece set effect from "Thief of Shooting Meteor" and the 2-piece set effect from "Talia: Kingdom of Banditry".
Thief of Shooting Meteor (4 Set)
- 2-piece: Increases Break Effect by 16 %.
- 4-piece: Increases the wearer's Break Effect by 16 %. When the wearer inflicts Break on an enemy, regenerates 3 Energy.
- 2-piece: Increases the wearer's Break Effect by 16 %. When the wearer's SPD reaches 145 or higher, the wearer's Break Effect increases by an extra 20 %.
Lukas play style is surrounded by increasing his own DMG output, while keeping the Break Effect high, putting debuffs like Bleed on the enemies and decrease their DEF. He is a pretty straightforward Nihility character.
Best Stats for Luka
The right stats are just as critical as the correct set. Prioritize Blade's Relic stats as followed:
- Body – HP %
- Boots – SPD
- Planar Sphere – HP %
- Link Rope – ER %
- Sub-stats – BREAK → SPD → HP %
Luka's Team Comp
Since Luka has a straightforward play style, he can be played with many other characters. We have some setups in mind that might work really well. The perfect and best team comp would be:
Team #1
This setup includes two 5-star characters from the Standard Banner and two 4-star characters. Natasha should already be with you in your party because the game gives her to you as a gift.
Yanqing and Luka are the DPS, Gepard is the tank support while Natasha keeps everyone healthy. If you don't have Gepard you can swap him out with the Fire Trailblazer. This grants you another Element in your setup.
Other possible setup looks like:

- Team #3 – Kafka, Luka, Silver Wolf, Bailu
- Team #4 – Sampo, Serval, Luka, Natasha
