Developer NetherRealm Studios is on an all-time high. The anticipation of Mortal Kombat 1 is increasing by the day, as more and more information gets announced or leaked. No wonder, as the fans are thrilled to get their hands on the 12th main installment of the franchise. Especially after we saw the most-recently revealed fighters
Some of you will be able to play the game before release, as an official closed beta just got announced for the game, including some of the revealed fighters, Kameos and stages.

Mortal Kombat 1: Beta Release Date & Time
The Mortal Kombat 1 beta begins on August 18 and lasts until August 21, 2023, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Sadly, PC-players won't have the chance of getting their hands on some good 1-v-1 fighting action, within the Mortal Kombat world.
The exact start time of the closed beta is still unknown, but will be announced in the coming weeks, as the beta draws closer.
Mortal Kombat 1: How To Get Access
Only those who have pre-ordered Mortal Kombat 1 will get access to the closed beta. A bitter pill to swallow, but a common thing for publishers and developers to do.

You'll get to try out only six fighters out of the 21 that have been already announced. And there will be four Kameo appearances available in the Mortal Kombat 1 closed beta. Here are the characters you can expect to see:

If you pre-order Mortal Kombat 1, you'll get access to the villain "Shang Tsung" right from day one as a bonus. However, some fans weren't thrilled about this deal. NetherRealm heard the feedback and announced that you'll be able to buy the villain separately too.
Mortal Kombat 1 will release for PC (Steam & Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, Switch and Xbox Series X|S on September 19.
