It's been 4-years since League of Legends players got to enjoy a PvE mode, with rotating game modes constantly repeating. With LoL Patch 12.19, URF will be hitting the servers once more. Here are all the upcoming update changes.
We don't always want to play just League of Legends, right? Sometimes we want to experience our champions in a whole different light. That's where rotating game modes come into play. Riot gives players a chance to completely flip the game around in these unique modes.
Throughout the Star Guardian Event 2022, we got to play Ultimate Spellbook. But now, Riot is going to be releasing URF once more. So, you can enjoy the ultra-rapid-fire game mode throughout the League of Legends World Championship since it was just announced that URF would be going onto the PBE, so we expect it to hit live servers with LoL Patch 12.19.
LoL Patch 12.19: Upcoming Buffs & Nerfs
All Buffs in League of Legends Patch 12.19
At this point we've got the final changes that are coming with LoL Patch 12.19. Nasus was supposed to receive a buff with the previous patch already but they were pulled on very short notice. Let's just hope Riot sticks to their plans this time around. Right so these champions are getting some love from Riot:
Champion | Buffs |
Nasus | Siphoning Strike (Q)
Wither (W)
Fury of the Sands (R)

Many of the changes above are actually also those off-meta build changes that Riot Phroxzon has been teasing. Now don't be alarmed when you see a full-AP Tahm Kench or a Crit-build Garen in your next solo queue games.
Champion Nerfs in LoL Patch 12.19
Champion | Nerfs |
Master Yi | Base Stats

Rek'Sai | Base Stats

The nerf list is pretty small, eh? Well, that's because Riot is focusing on buffing some under performers this time around with their new and improved off-meta builds. But we welcome the Master Yi nerfs.
More Build Diversity Coming in League of Legends Patch 12.19
As just mentioned in the buff section, Riot is looking to add more diversity into the game. So, if you want to play Blitzcrank as a top lane fighter? Than go out there and do that! These are the champions with multiple off-meta build improvements:
- Garen
- Blitzcrank
- Shyvana
- Kai'Sa
- Malphite
- Nunu & Willump

Janna VFX Update
Riot is also shipping out some visual updates for our queen Janna. These updates are on a smaller scale and will have an effect on her clarity in-game. According to the PBE thread, they're going to focus on "optimization, readability and better defining the character's identity" with this update.
Basically, they're going to make her spells look and feel better, similar to what Riot had done previously with Leona and Fizz. Of course, this means her skins will also be receiving some overhauls.

Designated Game Mode for Worlds 2022: URF
Ultra Rapid Fire, abbreviate and most commonly known as URF is one of the few rotating game modes we have left in League of Legends. As any other rotating game mode, this game mode is played on Summoner's Rift, but champions have basically no cooldown on their abilities and mana and energy consumption has been reduced by 100%.
What does this mean exactly? Well, you'll be able to spam abilities over-and-over as you play this game mode. Not only that, but everyone gets movement speed bonus, bonus attack speed and crit strikes deal more damage. All in all, this is one crazy game mode where you won't know up from down.
Blitzcrank Adjustments In LoL Patch 12.19
Blitzcrank will also be getting some adjustments in LoL Patch 12.19. Does this mean they're going to be viable in more positions than just as a support? Why yes, yes it does. They got a similar treatment as Maokai who also had his kit adjusted to fit into more positions than one. We love a variety robot.

Syndra was announced to get a mid-scope update during the August champion roadmap, and just last year she also got a slight VFX update so now it's time for her to shine in the mid lane once more.
