There is a lot of lore in Final Fantasy 16. So here is, how you can use the Active Time Lore system to dive deep into it.
Every game tells their story in their own unique way, but Final Fantasy has always been famous for its deep and emotional storytelling. Final Fantasy 16 will once again make us embark on an emotional rollercoaster, though Square Enix added a new feature to make it easier to understand the many facets of Valisthea.
The story of Final Fantasy 16 was influenced by Game of Thrones, so there are a lot of factions fighting and many people with their own motivations, busy with scheming and murder. So you don't lose the overview, there is a database called Thousand Tomes, but that won't help you during a cutscene. This is, where the Active Time Lore system comes into play.

Active Time Lore System In Final Fantasy 16
If you are confused during a cutscene and think: "Who is that woman again?" then the Active Time Lore is your helping hand.
Simply press the touchpad in a cutscene and a window will pop up with some text boxes containing information that might be relevant in the moment. For example, in the cutscene with Shiva and Titan, it would show information on the two Eikons and their respective Kingdoms.
This way you'll be able to read up on stuff and then dive right back into the epic scenes. Also, this means, there isn't too much exposition in conversations.
A pretty innovative idea from Square Enix to make it more the responsibility of the players to get important information that the characters already know and cut down on endless conversations.
